About The Early Careers Company

We're a dynamic and fast-paced organization dedicated to delivering incredible careers for everyone. Our purpose drives our work across our organizations, focusing on early careers and social mobility.

We're an energetic, young, and growing team with ambitious growth plans. Our people thrive on collaboration, working hard, and having fun while doing it.

The Early Careers Company

We're the largest of The Ladder Group's organizations, operating in multiple sectors, including Consumer Goods, Venture Capital, Nonprofits, and Commodities.

  1. Talent Acquisition: We provide On Demand and Equitable RPO services to our clients.
  2. Early Careers Strategies: We help clients design, build, and implement world-class early careers infrastructure, including campus strategies and diversity-focused internships.
The Associate Role

The Associate role is a key member of our ECC team, serving as the first step on the career ladder that takes members of the team from a junior-level hire to Director.

We're firm believers in 'practise what you preach', so almost all of our internal hiring is focused on high-capability juniors who learn our market, methodology, and key skills, and are able to grow and develop with our organization.

Our Ideal Candidate

We're looking for intelligent, curious, inherently kind, motivated, thoughtful, and driven individuals to join our team. If you're passionate about delivering meaningful change for thousands of young people from low-income families in the UK, and you want to gain exposure to every element of how a start-up works, working with fantastic people and clients, then you could be the right person for us.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work closely with our key clients to deliver on mandates and hiring campaigns across the UK, EU, US, and Asia.
  • Build and develop relationships with our key stakeholders, operating as true partners to our clients.
  • Advise and consult our clients on their early talent strategies, including designing/improving interview processes and reviewing/developing hiring plans.
  • Develop compelling narratives around our clients' histories, growth, business models, structures, processes, and roles to deliver to potential joiners, ensuring a smooth, consistent, and high-quality candidate experience.
  • Identify, approach, and build relationships with candidates, typically young people with limited or no work experience. We see ourselves as guides and educators, identifying what people would be good at and where they would fit, and explaining these sectors/industries/functions to them.
  • Manage hiring processes to create a fantastic experience for the businesses we work with and our candidates.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • 0-1 year of professional working experience in a client or customer-facing environment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Compensation and Benefits
  • An initial three-month contract, after which – if successful – you will move into a permanent role on our 12-month Associate Programme.
  • £27k starting salary, increasing to £30k upon moving into a permanent role, with the opportunity to earn additional bonuses.
  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays – and we're closed over Christmas.
  • Work from home Wednesdays.
  • Free dinners in the office on Deliveroo if you're working late.
  • An electric company car which you can book for weekends away.
  • A company Uber account for taxis home when working late.
  • Team and company socials every quarter.
  • A MacBook when you join.
