Operations Manager (Part-Time)

As part of our ongoing expansion, we are looking for an Operations Manager to establish, sustain, and oversee the systems and processes that drive our organization.

Located at our headquarters, the Operations Manager will manage all non-engineering aspects of our operations, including the development of new systems and the upkeep of existing processes.

This position will encompass a diverse range of responsibilities, from maintaining our cloud-based project management platform to innovating new systems within our SharePoint IT framework, and playing a crucial role in the strategic direction of the organization.

  • Location: Flexible work arrangements available.
  • Salary: Based on skills and experience, with regular performance evaluations.
  • Working hours: Part-time options to be discussed during the appointment process.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contributing to strategic planning and optimizing our core operations (project management for engineering and consulting teams).
  • Developing, executing, and maintaining operational policies and procedures to enhance organizational performance.
  • Overall management of the company's ISO Quality Management System.
  • Collaborating with our external IT support provider, serving as the IT lead to ensure effective and compliant IT systems, and leading our Cyber Essentials certifications.

Essential Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in:

  • Project management with a focus on time, quality, and cost.
  • Experience with ISO9001 Quality Management Systems or other pertinent ISO standards and performance management systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as science, engineering, or management.
  • Experience in IT management.
  • Familiarity with small business financial systems and accounting software.
  • Project management experience for projects exceeding £100k.
  • Knowledge of Cyber Essentials.
  • Change Management certifications, such as APMG Change Management Foundation or Practitioner.
  • ISO Quality Management Systems (QMS) qualifications (ISO9001:2015 Internal Auditor, Lead Auditor, or similar).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including MS Azure and MS InTune.
  • Experience with Microsoft Power BI.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft SharePoint.
  • Understanding of industrial, process, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Practical knowledge of renewable energy systems in the built environment.
