About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at Imphal Barracks, Fulford Road, York YO10 4HD. As a Chef with Aramark, you will be responsible for cooking and preparing food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service, working well as part of a team of chefs, and following recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve a range of meals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Cook and prepare food for breakfast, lunch, and dinner service
  • Work well as part of a team of chefs, supporting one another and communicating effectively
  • Follow recipe cards to prepare, cook, and serve a range of meals
  • Complete daily paperwork to cover due diligence
  • Assist with deliveries and stock checks
  • Place food orders and maintain kitchen records
  • Share responsibility with the Chef manager/Catering manager for the checking, probing, and signing of all food deliveries
  • Monitor and record temperatures of fridges, freezers, hot cabinets, and serveries
  • Assist in daily and weekly kitchen deep cleans
  • Have full knowledge of all menu items served
  • Manage production and food levels to ensure minimal wastage
  • Act as a trainer/coach for new team members to learn procedures and standards for all kitchen tasks
  • Undertake relevant training as required

  • Catering and hospitality level 2 required
  • Allergen awareness
  • Excellent team player and communicator
  • A confident chef
  • DBS required
