  • The Structural Integrity Inspector will engage in a diverse range of evaluations across rail infrastructure and highways. This essential position entails verifying and interpreting assessments of civil, highway, and railway assets, including bridges, viaducts, and retaining walls, ensuring their safety and structural integrity while providing recommendations for future maintenance.

Inspection Responsibilities: Conduct evaluations of various structures, including culverts, bridges, and retaining walls.

Leadership Role: Lead inspection teams effectively.

Qualifications: Ideally, candidates should possess a degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on railway structures or be an experienced STE04 Examiner seeking career advancement.

Technical Expertise: A solid understanding of examination and inspection methodologies, the ability to produce high-quality reports, and the skill to identify defects and recommend remedial actions are essential.

Decision-Making Skills: The ability to make informed engineering decisions based on the condition and anticipated deterioration of structures, considering environmental and causal factors.

Mentorship Experience: Evidence of training and mentoring staff in technical engineering aspects is preferred.

Structural Experience: Experience with masonry, metallic, concrete, and timber structures is advantageous, along with familiarity with bridges, retaining walls, culverts, viaducts, and ancillary assets.

Communication Skills: Clear communication abilities and the capacity to translate technical information into easily understandable terms are crucial.
