We are looking for individuals from a variety of backgrounds to join our Board, especially those with expertise in the following areas:

Ideal candidates will bring a blend of wisdom and curiosity to engage in strategic discussions, leveraging both personal and professional experiences to help us meet our goals and fulfill our mission.

We provide extensive support and mentorship for those stepping into their first Board role.

Board Members are tasked with establishing the strategic vision of the organization, ensuring its long-term viability, and supervising executive performance.

We seek individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality care and support, playing a crucial role in maintaining good governance, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards, and endorsing business strategies.

Board Members will also provide their commercial insights during strategic discussions and ensure that effective systems are in place for monitoring organizational performance.


The successful candidates will demonstrate recent leadership experience in a relevant sector, ideally with a background in business management or social housing.

Proven experience in providing strategic guidance, understanding governance structures, and analyzing complex financial statements is highly desirable. We are looking for individuals with strong collaborative skills and a commitment to our mission and values.


A willingness to engage with detailed reports, proficiency in using technology for communication, and a genuine interest or experience in collaborative production within the third sector or housing context are essential attributes for this role.

About Us

Founded in 1971, St Anne's Community Services has evolved from a shelter for homeless individuals into a prominent organization with a workforce of 1,400 serving the North of England.

We offer a wide array of housing solutions, including 570 accommodation units, and support services for over 1,500 individuals facing challenges such as learning disabilities, mental health issues, substance misuse, and homelessness.

We work in partnership with various organizations, including local authorities and healthcare providers, to deliver our services effectively.
