About the Role

Sharp Manufacturing Company of UK is seeking a highly skilled Management Accountant to join our team in Wrexham. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for providing timely and effective financial performance reporting and insight, underpinned by robust controls and processes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Compile month end and year end accounts to strict deadlines, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
  • Supervise the department's Product Costing section, providing guidance and support to team members.
  • Prepare and analyze monthly management accounts, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register, ensuring up-to-date and accurate records.
  • Assist with compiling data and reporting for Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), providing insights to inform business decisions.
  • Manipulate and analyze data to inform business decisions, using advanced Excel skills.
  • Prepare and submit monthly VAT and Duty reports, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and maintain monthly P&L forecasts, providing accurate and timely financial information.
  • Manage company stock taking, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting governance and audit requirements, maintaining high standards of financial reporting.
  • Liaise with external auditors, providing necessary information and support.
  • Maintain Business Risk Review and Corporate Criminal Offence strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assist with half-yearly budget planning process, providing financial insights and recommendations.
  • Work on internal process improvements across the department and wider areas of the business, identifying areas for efficiency gains and cost savings.
  • Collaborate with wider organisation teams to assist in cost tracking, efficiency gains, and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Mentor and coach team members to develop their skills and knowledge, ensuring a high-performing team.
Requirements
  • Nearly/newly qualified ACCA or CIMA, with a strong understanding of financial reporting and analysis.
  • Experience of producing management accounts, with a focus on accuracy and timeliness.
  • 3-5 years of experience working in a fast-paced accounts environment, with a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Strong communication and organisational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Highly motivated and proactive, with a strong desire to learn and develop.
  • Team player, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
  • Able to work to strict deadlines, with a strong focus on accuracy and quality.
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems, with a strong understanding of financial systems and processes.
  • Proficient in MS Office, with a strong focus on Excel skills.
  • Strong Excel user, with a strong focus on data analysis and manipulation.
  • Highly confidential in nature, with a strong focus on maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Highly numerate and literate, with a strong focus on financial analysis and reporting.
