Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior Planner to join our Planning team. As a key point of contact for clients, you will deliver planning advice on planning applications and projects, developing and refining commercial management, client relationship, and business development skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and refine commercial management, client relationship, and business development skills.
  • Collaborate effectively with colleagues to ensure successful outcomes for projects/clients.
  • Build and consolidate networks within the industry.
  • Contribute towards bids and project proposals.
  • Accountable for own budgetary, quality, safety, and timeframe targets for projects.
  • Liaise with contractors/suppliers and other third parties involved in projects.
  • Prepare and submit planning applications, appeals, and pre-application enquiries.
  • Conduct research and undertake comprehensive planning appraisals.
  • Write high-quality reports with clear recommendations.
  • Provide guidance to engineers/architects on planning submissions.
  • Review Local Planning Authority (LPA) Local Plans.
  • Manage community engagement and public examinations.
  • Communicate with stakeholders involved in the planning process.

Requirements

  • Preferably a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute or working towards it.
  • At least two years working in the planning industry, in either the public or private sectors.
  • Project management skills.
  • Strong report writing skills and experience of delivering recommendations.
  • Strong understanding of the UK planning process.
