Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) to join our team on a temporary basis for 6 months. As a SENCO, you will play a crucial role in supporting students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the appropriate interventions and support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and coordinate the provision for students with special educational needs.
- Develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and ensure they are regularly reviewed and updated.
- Work closely with teachers, support staff, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support for students.
- Provide guidance and training to staff on SEN best practices and strategies.
- Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of SEN provision and make necessary adjustments.
- Liaise with parents and carers to ensure they are informed and involved in their child's education.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Proven experience as a SENCO in a secondary school setting.
- Strong knowledge of SEN legislation and best practices.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with staff, students, and external agencies.
- Commitment to promoting an inclusive and supportive learning environment.
