Flexible Cover Educational Support Assistant

Protocol Education is collaborating with educational institutions in the Thornbury region to recruit dedicated and adaptable Educational Support Assistants to play an essential role in our assistance team. This position is ideal for individuals seeking to acquire experience in various educational environments and with children of diverse age groups, all while maintaining a schedule that accommodates their personal commitments. You will have access to your own online calendar, which you will manage to facilitate work opportunities on any days you choose.

Key Responsibilities:


• As a flexible cover educational support assistant, you will provide assistance across different schools and year groups as required. This may involve covering for staff absences, providing additional support, or delivering intervention assistance.


• Support and manage student behavior while they engage in their tasks, ensuring a constructive and positive atmosphere is consistently upheld.


• De-escalate classroom situations appropriately, ensuring that safeguarding protocols are always followed.


• Provide one-on-one in-class support and work with small groups, particularly with students requiring special educational needs (SEN) for brief periods as necessary.


• Report any safeguarding concerns in accordance with the school's referral processes and safeguarding policies.
