Join Our Team as a Category Planner

At Sainsbury's, our aim in Category Planning is to stay ahead of the competition and drive results. As a Category Planner within the Food for Later division, you will play a pivotal role in executing our 'Food First' strategy by influencing critical decisions across the category.

Your Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the promotional strategy across various platforms, ensuring effective communication of messages to customers while driving sales growth.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Buyers, Supply Chain, and Marketing, to implement the promotional plan on time and with precision.
  • Utilize insights and data to guide your decision-making process, leading performance reviews to enhance promotional planning.
  • Ensure clear communication to support the execution of promotional initiatives and seasonal events, while managing in-store asset requests.
  • Act as an advocate for the Food for Later category, securing necessary resources to enhance customer experiences both in-store and online.

What We Are Looking For:
  • A solid grasp of commercial and retail dynamics, with an understanding of buying or promotions being a plus.
  • Strong analytical capabilities to transform data into actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Exceptional communication skills to foster effective relationships and provide support across various stakeholder levels.
  • A proactive and driven individual who takes initiative in problem-solving and process improvement.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint to support your analytical and presentation needs.
