This is a great opportunity for a strong trading focused Buying / Category Manager to support the Head of Buying in delivering commercially focused product ranges that meet both Departmental and Company targets.
Key Responsibilities- Lead a team of Buyers to manage their individual categories and drive sales growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to negotiate best cost prices and ensure timely delivery of products.
- Analyse sales figures to plan successful future product lines and identify opportunities for growth.
- Plan and deliver specific promotions and events within the Food to Go department to drive sales and increase customer engagement.
- Attend trade shows and supplier markets to stay up-to-date with industry trends and identify new business opportunities.
- Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure the best possible deals for the company.
- Monitor competitor activity and price analysis to stay ahead in the market.
- Present reports and trend information to the Senior Management team to inform business decisions.
- Develop the Buying team to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles.
- Proven experience as a Buying / Category Manager in a fast-moving FMCG environment, preferably in the food industry.
- Ability to influence and negotiate effectively with suppliers and stakeholders.
- Strong leadership skills to motivate and develop a team of Buyers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with suppliers and colleagues.
- Good working knowledge of budgets and project management to drive sales growth and improve efficiency.
- Excellent understanding of MS Office products to analyse data and present reports.
