Graduate Teaching Assistant (Primary)

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and passionate Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a dynamic primary school in Ashington.

This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate with a passion for education to make a real difference in the lives of young learners.

About the Role:

As a Graduate Teaching Assistant in Primary, you will play a crucial role in supporting teachers and helping students achieve their full potential.

You will provide one-on-one or small group support to students who need extra help, help manage classroom behaviour and maintain a positive learning environment, and assist with the supervision of students during breaks and lunchtimes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide academic support to students who require additional help
  • Assist teachers with lesson planning and delivery
  • Help maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment
  • Support students with special educational needs
  • Participate in school events and activities
Requirements:

We are looking for a recent graduate with a passion for education and a positive attitude towards helping students.

You should have basic knowledge of child development and educational practices, and relevant qualifications or training in education or childcare is an advantage.

Please note that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection, and successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS on the update service.
