Job Title: Graduate Teaching Assistant (Post 16)

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant (Post 16) to join our team in Ashington. As a Graduate Teaching Assistant (Post 16), you will play a vital role in supporting students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their studies and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with ASD in their academic and personal growth
  • Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and maintaining a productive learning environment
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students as needed
  • Help students with coursework and exam preparation
  • Encourage positive behavior and engagement in lessons
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Monitor and report on student progress
Requirements:
  • A degree in any subject (education or psychology preferred)
  • Passion for working with young people, particularly those with additional needs
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills
  • Patience, empathy, and a caring attitude
  • Experience working with children or young adults (preferred but not essential)
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures
  • Up-to-date CV and enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or willingness to apply)
