ASD Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate ASD Teaching Assistant to join our team at a primary school in Ashington. The successful candidate will provide tailored support to children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, facilitating their academic and social development within a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide individualized support to students with ASD in a classroom setting.
- Implement learning and care plans developed by the SENCO and teaching staff.
- Encourage positive social interactions and manage sensory sensitivities.
- Experience working with children with ASD or related special educational needs.
- NVQ Level 2/3 in Childcare, Education, or Support Services (or equivalent).
- Strong empathy, patience, and effective communication skills.
GSL Education is committed to safeguarding and child protection. The successful applicant must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS on the update service or completing an application for a new check.
We offer access to accredited Education-relevant CPD courses and a referral incentive of £100 for successful referrals of Teachers or Teaching Assistants.
