Cardiology Research Fellow

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Research Fellow to support ongoing research in the interventional cardiology department at Barts Health NHS Trust.
Main Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement research aims and objectives in collaboration with the departmental team.
- To obtain funding and ethical approval for research projects.
- To assist in the recruitment and running of departmental research studies.
- To collect, analyze, and communicate scientific data, providing clear interpretations of results.
- To write and publish scientific papers, presenting research findings at conferences and meetings.
- To participate in the out-of-hours clinical service of the department as required.
- To develop and maintain relevant research and clinical skills.
- To manage laboratory consumables and maintain accurate records of expenditure.
Person Specification:
- Primary medical qualification recognized by the General Medical Council (GMC) and current Full Registration with the GMC.
- MRCP (or Equivalent).
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- Intercalated BSc or MSc.
- Good Clinical Practice training.
- Knowledge of general research techniques.
- Experience of statistical analyses.
Essential Skills:
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Ability to exercise initiative.
- Ability to work constructively and effectively within a small team.
- Ability to collaborate and relate with others.
- Excellent communication skills.
Desirable Skills:
- Able to competently use appropriate software, such as Excel, Stata, and coding languages, to support data analysis and presentation.
