Family Liaison Officer Role

The Family Liaison Officer plays a vital role in supporting families and carers through the investigation process following a serious incident related to a service user.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide timely contact and information sharing with families, carers, and significant others.
  • Ensure timely contact and information sharing, including signposting to sources of help following a bereavement or a serious incident.
  • Contribute to the development of training and education to ensure all teams across the Trust are aware of the Trust response to bereavement/serious incident.

  • Evidence of recent and ongoing Continuous Professional Development.
