About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Mental Health Teaching Assistant to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion. As a Mental Health Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEMH needs in a challenging and rewarding environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide academic support to students in lessons, ensuring they achieve their full potential.
  • Act as a positive role model, building strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Support students with physically and emotionally challenging behavior, using de-escalation techniques to ensure a safe and calm environment.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team to develop and implement individualized education plans.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive school culture.
Requirements
  • Experience working with students with SEMH needs, preferably in a PRU or SEMH school setting.
  • Strong understanding of mental health and behavior management principles.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and build strong relationships with students and staff.
  • Resilient personality and ability to manage challenging behavior.
