Role

As a seasoned commercial professional, you will lead the commercial management of significant subcontract packages, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with contractual requirements. Your expertise will be instrumental in devising tender competition strategies, drafting subcontract works information, and reviewing tender documentation to ensure consistency and compatibility with project requirements.

You will work closely with the commercial team to ensure all contractual requirements are fulfilled, manage cost control, and provide monthly reporting. Excellent communication and customer-facing skills are essential, as you will engage with stakeholders, promote company culture, and values, and drive problem-solving initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize supply chain engagement.
  2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive commercial objectives and ensure project success.
  3. Review and validate tender reports, recommendations, and subcontract data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  4. Manage subcontract packages, including change control and commercial management, to ensure timely completion and certification.
  5. Provide commercial management support to the project team, ensuring alignment with company policies and procedures.
  6. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  7. Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to ensure the company remains competitive and compliant.
Required Qualifications, Skills, Behaviours and Attributes
  1. RICS/CICES accredited Degree (or equivalent)
  2. Full Membership of RICS or CICES (or equivalent)
  3. Post-graduate commercial experience in the construction industry with a proven track record of achievement
  4. Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen, with experience in budget setting, forecasting, and reporting
  5. Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to influence and assert commercial objectives
  6. Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills, with the ability to develop and implement commercial strategies
  7. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, promoting company culture and values
