About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Electus Recruitment Solutions. As a key member of our commercial management team, you will play a crucial role in managing the financial and commercial aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Manage the commercial and financial aspects of construction projects, including cost control, forecasting, and contract administration.
  2. Prepare and assess applications, valuations, and cost/value reconciliation.
  3. Control costs and forecasting; provide input to monthly reports (value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow, budget).
  4. Prepare and assess applications for payment or payment certificates.
  5. Assist with Risk and Value Management to optimize solutions and address commercial risks.
  6. Manage contracts, including relevant forms, budget control, and software applications.
  7. Negotiate, administer, and close out supply chain contracts.
  8. Liaise with site teams, subcontractors, and customer representatives, maintaining accurate records and meeting documentation.
Requirements
  1. NEC3 experience.
  2. Hold an RICS/CICES accredited Degree (or equivalent) or enrolled on an accredited part-time post-graduate Degree.
  3. Demonstrable legal, contractual, and construction knowledge.
  4. Experience in managing subcontractors and work packages.
  5. Experience in drafting contractual correspondence, preparing payment certificates, and interim financial reports.
  6. Demonstrable forecasting experience.
  7. Experience contributing to procurement and contract strategies.
  8. Experience of setting up and operating office management systems, including filing systems, document control, and distribution.
  9. Skilled in technical minute-taking at contractual meetings and the ability to collate information and prepare reports.
