Apprentice Quantity Surveyor

We are seeking a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join our team at Randstad CPE London. As a Quantity Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate and value-generating input to projects, working closely with delivery teams and associated rail interface works.
Key Responsibilities:- Commercial Management: Ensure all commercial aspects are carried out in accordance with the contract, company policies, and procedures, and to the satisfaction of the customer and/or contract leader.
- Notice and Correspondence: Input to the efficient and effective management and issuing of accurate, timely, and compliant notices and correspondence.
- Cost Control and Forecasting: Prepare and provide input to monthly reports: value, cost, profit/loss, cash flow, and budget.
- Payment Certificates: Prepare and agree on applications for payment or the assessment and preparation of payment certificates.
- Project Forecasting: Prepare project forecasting and assist with Risk and Value Management to optimize solutions.
- Contract Management: Manage contracts, including all relevant contractual forms, methods of budgetary control, and relevant software applications.
- Supply Chain Management: Prepare supply chain enquiries, negotiate, administer, and finalize/close out supply chain contracts.
- Record-Keeping: Undertake record-keeping, including collating site records, preparing meeting packs, meeting invites, and taking meeting minutes.
- Contractual Advice: Provide contractual advice to the project/site team as and when appropriate.
- Environmental Awareness: Maintain awareness of the different construction contracts in current use and understand the Client and Partners Environment and Sustainability Policies, Processes, and statutory requirements as they affect the company's operations.
- Financial and Commercial Acumen: Demonstrable financial and commercial acumen.
- NEC3 Experience: NEC3 experience.
- Forecasting Experience: Demonstrable forecasting experience.
- Subcontractor Management: Experience in managing subcontractors and work packages.
- Organizational and Communication Skills: Excellent organizational and communication skills.
- Problem-Solving Skills: A creative and innovative approach to problem-solving.
- Technical Skills: Experience of setting up and/or operating office management systems, including filing systems and document control and distribution.
- Contractual Correspondence: Experience of drafting contractual correspondence on behalf of the Project Manager and preparation of payment certificates and interim financial reports.
- Procurement and Contract Strategies: Experience of contributing to procurement and contract strategies.
- Negotiation and Team-Working Skills: Negotiating and team-working skills and the ability to motivate and lead.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills.
- Legal, Contractual, and Construction Knowledge: Demonstrable legal, contractual, and construction knowledge.
- Leadership and Influence: Confidence and ability to assert influence.
- Qualifications: Hold an RICS/CICES accredited Degree (or equivalent) or enrolled on an accredited part-time post-graduate Degree.
