Job Summary

University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated individual to join our team as a Patient Accessibility Specialist. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading healthcare provider and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

About the Role

The Patient Accessibility Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring that our services are accessible and equitable for all patients. This will involve working closely with various stakeholders to identify and address barriers to access, and developing strategies to improve patient experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a subject matter expert on accessibility and patient experience, providing guidance and advice to staff members.
  • Provide professional administrative support to the team, including copywriting, editing, proofreading, and typesetting services.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to deliver up-to-date patient information and ensure equitable access for all patients.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 4 or equivalent experience.
  • GCSE (or equivalent) standard in English and Maths.
  • Experience in an administration or customer support role.
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of organizing and prioritizing multiple tasks within tight timescales/deadlines.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • Experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Experience of interdisciplinary working.
  • Experience in delivering training sessions.
