Production Engineer Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer to join our operations team at Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd. The successful candidate will assist in the maintenance of current and future products manufactured in the UK and overseas.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in the introduction of new products into production, including planning workflow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
  • Design and implement fixtures and tooling for assembly tasks, and generate production documentation such as assembly instructions.
  • Organize and run pilot builds to resolve issues prior to mass production, and inspect and review pilot builds of finished goods made at contract manufacturers.
  • Investigate reported production problems and customer-related issues, and implement changes to the production line, updating documentation as necessary.
  • Sustain the production of existing products, including re-sourcing and approving parts from alternative suppliers, and continuous improvement of production processes.
  • Maintain manufacturing bills of material, including creating and updating BOMs in the WindChill PLM system and migrating them into the ERP system.
Requirements:
  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design Engineering, or an associated discipline.
  • Proficiency in a professional 3D CAD package such as Creo Parametric, and experience with PLM systems and manufacturing ERP's.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to present solutions based on sound engineering principles.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
