About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Embedded System Architect to join our team at Focusrite Audio Engineering Ltd. As a key member of our Engineering department, you will play a crucial role in shaping the architecture of our connected products, ensuring they are secure, high-performance, testable, sustainable, and scalable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead a community of practice to ensure our product system architectures are well-considered and aligned with our product and engineering strategy.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams to embed yourself in key points of the development cycle, helping to implement architectural components.
  • Ensure non-functional requirements are met, particularly where they exist between or across multiple teams.
  • Participate in team solution definition and implementation, updating the architecture with feedback as teams design, build, and test their work.
Requirements
  • Experience in developing consumer electronic products in a cost-sensitive environment.
  • Knowledge of embedded systems, including collaboration with electronics engineers on system design constraints and software teams on systems integration.
  • Experience with software platform engineering techniques and design methodologies, including hands-on development experience in C/C++.
  • Familiarity with systems implementing a mixture of real-time and non-real-time processing.
  • Advocate for automated testing from unit testing to hardware in the loop, and familiar with principles of Continuous Integration.
  • Excellent communication skills and a proven track record of helping people and teams work well together.
  • Flexible and able to effectively prioritize and schedule across multiple projects.
  • Advocate for good documentation and the importance of knowledge sharing.
