Position Overview: Hand and Wrist Orthopaedic Consultant

The Department of Trauma and Orthopaedics is seeking a motivated and proficient hand and wrist orthopaedic consultant to become part of their esteemed team. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in delivering both urgent trauma care and planned orthopaedic procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver thorough management for conditions affecting the hand and wrist
  • Enhance the range of elective surgical procedures for hand and wrist
  • Engage in clinical governance initiatives and educational activities

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • FRCS (Tr & Orth) or equivalent qualification
  • Registration on the Specialist Register for Trauma & Orthopaedic Surgery
  • Valid Licence to Practise
  • Certification as an ATLS Provider

Desirable:

  • Relevant advanced degree
  • Post Graduate Diploma in hand surgery
  • Certification as an ATLS Trainer

Experience:

Essential:

  • Fellowship-level training in Upper Limb Surgery
  • Clinical background in Trauma & Orthopaedics
  • Capability to provide expert clinical assessments

Desirable:

  • Participation in management training programs
  • Experience in teaching and educational supervision
