We are seeking an experienced and skilled Senior Orthopaedic Nurse Leader to join our team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Orthopaedic Trauma ward, you will be responsible for leading a team of nurses and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management
- Lead a team of nurses in the delivery of patient care, ensuring that high standards are maintained at all times.
- Develop and implement plans to improve patient outcomes and experience.
- Patient Care
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans in conjunction with the multidisciplinary team.
- Provide coaching, teaching, and facilitation to empower patients and their families.
- Ward Management
- Hold the unit bed bleep and support all orthopaedic areas.
- Coordinate the ward team's education, training, and skill mix.
- Professional Development
- Complete necessary training for the scope of professional practice relevant to your clinical area.
- Act as a clinical resource, transferring techniques, skills, and talents to members of the nursing team.
- Experience
- Proven experience at Band 5 in an orthopaedic setting.
- Evidence of having developed skills within the Scope of Professional Practice relevant to the area of responsibility.
- Qualifications
- RGN with current registration.
- Demonstrate professional post-registration development.
- Interpersonal Skills
- Demonstrate positive verbal and written communication skills with multidisciplinary team/client/relatives.
- Demonstrate a caring manner with an understanding disposition.
- Organisational Skills
- Able to accommodate the demands of the post with flexible working as required.
- Demonstrate the ability to participate in the implementation of change.
