Summer Camp Multi Activity Leader

Overview:
As a Multi Activity Instructor, you will play a crucial role in creating a fun and safe environment for children at our summer camp. Your responsibilities will include planning and delivering engaging activities that cater to various age groups, ensuring the well-being of all participants.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain the Multi Activity area to be welcoming and suitable for children.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all children.
- Design and conduct exciting sessions that align with the training provided.
- Deliver safety instructions and demonstrate the proper use of equipment.
- Provide attentive supervision to meet the needs of children throughout the day, including during breaks and lunch.
- Complete necessary paperwork related to Multi Activity sessions accurately and timely.
- Encourage full participation from all children in your group.
- Collaborate with fellow staff members who assist with your sessions.
- Regularly check and maintain Multi Activity equipment.
- Take responsibility for the general welfare and safeguarding of children.
- Lead specialized skills builder courses.
- Ensure the site remains tidy and that all equipment is properly stored.
- Guarantee the safe use of all equipment during sessions.
Requirements:
- Complete a complimentary 1-day Multi Activity course prior to starting employment.
- Must be at least 18 years old by the start of the contract.
- Eligibility to work in the UK is required.
- Provide satisfactory professional or academic references.
- Possess enthusiasm, care, organization, and excellent communication skills, with the ability to use initiative.
- Obtain an enhanced DBS check through Barracudas or have an existing enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
- Participate in a Virtual Assessment Event if new to Barracudas.
- Complete annual Online Training.
- Attend an Induction Training Day before the first working season.
- Assist with the end-of-camp pack-up.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Ensure compliance with all Health and Safety obligations by following instructions and maintaining a proactive approach to safety.
- Organize and deliver activities appropriate for the children based on your qualifications and knowledge.
- Encourage children to engage in new activities and follow the scheduled activity program.
- Maintain awareness of children's safety and whereabouts, respecting them as individuals.
- Follow all camp systems, including registration and collection procedures, and support colleagues in doing the same.
- Act as a positive role model by promoting healthy lifestyles and good hygiene practices.
- Report any Child Protection concerns to the Senior Team or designated personnel.
- Make reasonable adjustments to accommodate children with additional needs.
- Depending on staff availability, you may be required to deliver Skills Builder sessions.
- All staff may need to support swimming sessions, with swimwear required.
