About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Advanced Pharmacist to join our team at Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Pharmacy department, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our clinical services.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in clinical pharmacy, with experience in a range of ward and clinical areas. You will be responsible for providing a clinical pharmacy service to all surgery wards, including Acute admissions, Digestive Disease Unit, Intensive Care, Orthopaedic, and General Surgery. You will also work closely with other pharmacists in the surgical team to ensure seamless care of patients transferred to/from the surgical wards.

In addition to your clinical expertise, you will have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to mentor, coach, and train junior pharmacists and other healthcare professionals. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures in line with the Trust Medicines Code.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a clinical pharmacy service to all surgery wards, including Acute admissions, Digestive Disease Unit, Intensive Care, Orthopaedic, and General Surgery.
  • Work closely with other pharmacists in the surgical team to ensure seamless care of patients transferred to/from the surgical wards.
  • Develop and implement clinical guidelines, policies, and procedures in line with the Trust Medicines Code.
  • Mentor, coach, and train junior pharmacists and other healthcare professionals.
  • Contribute to the development of our clinical services and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
