Advanced Pharmacist

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Pharmacist to join our Transformation Unit team. As a Clinical Specialist, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality clinical pharmacy services to our patients.

• Clinical Services
  • Provide clinical pharmacy services to our surgical wards, including Intensive Care and Pre-op Clinic.
  • Contribute to the development of protocols and guidelines within these specialty areas.
  • Liaise with other pharmacists to ensure seamless care of patients.
  • Assist in monitoring medicines expenditure and delivering cost improvement programs.
  • Investigate incidents and near misses, and implement lessons learned.
• Education, Training, and Leadership
  • Develop own knowledge and skills to stay up-to-date with new guidelines and developments.
  • Mentor, coach, and train junior pharmacists and apprentices.
  • Represent the department at Clinical Governance level meetings and other delegated responsibilities.
• Person Specification
  • Master's degree in Pharmacy.
  • Registration with the GPHC.
  • Postgraduate qualification in hospital Pharmacy or completion of 2-year study toward one.
  • 2 years post-registration UK hospital experience.
  • Clinical experience in a range of ward/clinical areas.
  • Teaching, training, and coaching experience.
  • Leadership experience, including responsibility for a defined area.
  • Good clinical knowledge of commonly prescribed medicines.
  • Good knowledge of NICE guidelines for common conditions.
  • Good knowledge of the NHS and current priorities.
