Job Summary

The Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance seeks a visionary leader to serve as its President and Chief Executive Officer. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of the cultural sector in the Philadelphia region and to drive meaningful change through strategic partnerships, innovative programming, and effective advocacy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive strategic plan to advance the mission and goals of the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including cultural organizations, community leaders, government agencies, and funders.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of programs and services that promote the cultural sector and support the growth and development of arts and culture in the region.
  • Lead the Alliance's advocacy efforts to promote policies and initiatives that benefit the cultural sector.
  • Manage the Alliance's finances and operations, ensuring fiscal health and stability.
  • Supervise and support a team of staff and consultants to achieve the Alliance's goals.
Requirements
  • Proven track record of leadership and management in the cultural sector or a related field.
  • Strong strategic thinking and planning skills, with the ability to develop and implement comprehensive plans.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Experience in fundraising and development, with a strong network of contacts and relationships.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize multiple tasks and responsibilities.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to promote and support these values in all aspects of work.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in the Philadelphia region or a similar urban environment.
  • Knowledge of the cultural sector and its trends and challenges.
  • Experience with strategic planning and implementation, program development and management, and advocacy and policy development.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively in multiple formats, including reports, proposals, and presentations.
  • Experience working with diverse stakeholders, including community leaders, government officials, and funders.
