At Cameron Clarke Associates, we are seeking a committed individual to join our dedicated team and deliver a tailored package of care, support, and education to two young adults. The role involves working within a family environment to provide essential care and skills training for twins with autism. You will oversee the care and educational initiatives while leading a small group of support assistants.

Ideal candidates will have experience in supporting individuals with autism. Exceptional communication skills, the ability to remain composed under pressure, and a passion for providing top-notch support and educational services are essential. Comprehensive training will be offered.

Job Type: Permanent

Salary: Up to £30,000 per annum, depending on skills and qualifications

Key Requirements:

  • Valid full UK driving license and capability to drive

This position has a 'genuine occupational requirement' as per the Sex Discrimination Act 1975, and therefore applications from females are encouraged.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand and implement EHCPs and learning objectives
  • Exhibit strong leadership and motivate a team providing daily support to the twins
  • Provide direct support regularly, leading by example
  • Enhance care and learning opportunities through structured and engaging teaching methods
  • Adhere to positive behavior plans to manage challenging behaviors, striving to comprehend the twins' communication through their actions
  • Contribute to observation and assessment programs as directed by teachers and health professionals
  • Develop resources and deliver care and educational activities
  • Promote effective teaching strategies that engage and motivate
  • Collaborate with parents and professionals
  • Facilitate learning and life opportunities in various settings, including community environments
  • Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and GDPR regulations, reporting any concerns promptly
  • Perform other reasonable duties as needed, adapting to the twins' evolving requirements

You will be part of a passionate team dedicated to delivering high-quality education and care, adapting services to meet the unique needs of the young adults.

Essential Qualities:

  • Patience, calmness under pressure, eagerness to learn new skills, and a commitment to relationship-building
  • Experience working effectively with young adults with autism and dedication to their skill development and quality of life
  • Willingness to engage in an exciting training program, including intensive interaction, PECs, TEACCH, and British Sign Language, along with an understanding of Positive Behavior Support
  • Possession of or working towards NVQ level 3 or higher, with opportunities for career advancement within the organization
  • Experience in personal care
