Job Title: OTM Fitter/Operator

Colas Rail UK is seeking a skilled and experienced OTM Fitter/Operator to join our team. As a key member of our rail grinding operations, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our grinding machines.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate and maintain grinding machines to ensure optimal performance and safety.
  • Conduct regular inspections and maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failure and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with Grinding and Maintenance Supervisors to resolve machine problems and optimize schedules.
  • Assist in maintaining quality systems, machine safety packs, and stabling database.
  • Perform daily maintenance duties, including chipping and blowing.
  • Complete daily Work Return Forms and maintain accurate records.
Requirements:
  • Recognised formal apprenticeship in Mechanical/Electrical engineering.
  • Core competencies of Foundation Course, Machine Setup, and Pack away for Operation Grinding Railgrinding maintainer for Operations/Maintenance competence matrix.
  • Driving Licence.
  • PTS.
  • Fire Training.
  • Emergency First Aid.
  • Depot/Yard Inductions.
  • Basic Laser Safety.
  • COSS.
