Job Title: Compliance and Health and Safety Manager

The QHSE Manager plays a vital role in ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards for our client.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Risk Assessment:
    • Develop and implement comprehensive risk assessments for all activities with significant hazards and foreseeable risks.
    • Provide guidance and support to departmental managers on completing risk assessments and review them as required.
    • Advise on when reviews are necessary and oversee the completion of risk assessments when requested.
  • Auditing, Monitoring, and Review:
    • Conduct regular internal audits and inspections according to a schedule.
    • Collate details of findings and required corrective/preventive actions arising from audits and inspections.
    • Ensure compliance with safety and environmental controls for remote workers.
  • Management Systems & Accreditations:
    • Support and maintain existing management systems in line with ISO standards.
    • Act as the site contact for relationships with accreditation bodies and attend surveillance audits.
  • Fire / Emergency Planning:
    • Develop procedures for preventing emergency situations.
    • Coordinate routine testing of emergency provisions, including fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems.
  • Liaison with Enforcement Agencies:
    • Act as the site point of contact for all communications with enforcement authorities.
    • Develop positive relationships with enforcement agencies.
  • Incident Reporting and Investigation:
    • Ensure prompt reporting of accidents, incidents, injuries, and near misses.
    • Coordinate investigations into reported events, especially significant incidents.
    • Maintain accurate records and generate comprehensive statistics.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • NEBOSH General Certificate of Occupational Safety and Health
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Safety
  • Internal Environmental Auditor
  • Inspection of PPE - Competent Person
  • Roof Safety, Access & RF Awareness
  • NRSWA - Signing, Lighting and Guarding - Unit 10 Supervision
  • Lifting Equipment Inspection and Record Keeping
  • IPAF - MEWPS for Managers
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Manual Handling
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • SAQ 5.0 experience
  • Police Security Vetted to National Non-Police Personnel Standard +SC
