Job Summary

Thorn Baker Group is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Advisor to join our team. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will be responsible for supporting the delivery of our HSEQ strategy, IMS, and attending multiple sites to oversee, monitor and evaluate health and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Liaise with our clients and internal Health and Safety team to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Chair internal site Health and Safety meetings to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
  • Attend client Health and Safety meetings to provide expert advice and guidance.
  • Support site teams on all Health and Safety aspects, including reviewing safe systems of work and conducting workplace inspections.
  • Manage day-to-day Health and Safety activities on site, including attending and advising during safe start meetings.
  • Conduct investigations into accidents or incidents and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage on-site occupational health and coordinate training of project staff.
  • Contribute to the maintenance of ISO 45001 and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of experience in a busy site-based Health and Safety role within construction.
  • Effective communication skills at all levels, with client-facing experience.
  • Technical awareness and experience providing Health and Safety support in the construction and building services sectors.
  • IT literacy and proficient report-writing skills.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NEBOSH general certificate or equivalent.
  • CSCS Professional card.
  • First aid training.
