Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Compliance and Health and Safety Manager to join our team at Hernshead Recruitment Ltd. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards for our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Risk Assessment and Management
  • Develop and implement comprehensive risk assessments for all activities with significant hazards and foreseeable risks.
  • Provide guidance and support to departmental managers on completing risk assessments and reviewing them as required.
  • Oversee the completion of risk assessments and ensure compliance with safety and environmental controls.
Auditing, Monitoring, and Review
  • Conduct regular internal audits and inspections to ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
  • Collate and analyze findings, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
Management Systems and Accreditations
  • Support and maintain existing management systems in line with ISO standards.
  • Act as the site contact for relationships with accreditation bodies and attend surveillance audits.
Fire and Emergency Planning
  • Develop and implement procedures for preventing emergency situations.
  • Coordinate routine testing of emergency provisions, including fire extinguishers and fire alarm systems.
Liaison with Enforcement Agencies
  • Act as the site point of contact for all communications with enforcement authorities.
  • Develop positive relationships with enforcement agencies and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Incident Reporting and Investigation
  • Ensure prompt reporting of accidents, incidents, injuries, and near misses.
  • Coordinate investigations into reported events and maintain accurate records.
Requirements
  • NEBOSH General Certificate of Occupational Safety and Health
  • NEBOSH Certificate in Construction Safety
  • Internal Environmental Auditor
  • Inspection of PPE - Competent Person
  • Roof Safety, Access & RF Awareness
  • NRSWA - Signing, Lighting and Guarding - Unit 10 Supervision
  • Lifting Equipment Inspection and Record Keeping
  • IPAF - MEWPS for Managers
  • Emergency First Aid at Work
  • Manual Handling
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • SAQ 5.0 experience
  • Police Security Vetted to National Non-Police Personnel Standard +SC
