Job Title: Interim Specialist Finance Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Interim Specialist Finance Analyst to join our team at Finegreen. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing financial expertise to an NHS organisation based in the East of England.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Production of timely and accurate financial information in line with financial procedures and timetables.
  • Supporting the Senior Financial Analyst in budget-setting and maintenance of a defined portfolio of services.
  • Supporting the Cost and Income Improvement Programme (CIIP) reporting for a defined portfolio of services.
  • Liaising with other staff in the Finance Team to ensure production of timely and accurate financial information.
  • Complying with all delegated responsibilities in respect of the monthly closedown timetable.
  • Supporting the production of reliable forecasts in agreement with appropriate budget holders.
  • Providing financial information and advice to budget holders across a defined range of budgets.
  • Undertaking detailed financial analyses to support understanding of variances from plan.
  • Providing a monthly summary of progress against CIIP schemes.
  • Supporting the production of final accounts by adhering to Head of Statutory Accounts instructions.
  • Supporting the Cost and Income Accountant in completing business cases and Service Line Reporting.
  • Ensuring the annual income and expenditure budgets for services are completed on time.
  • Providing complex financial analysis and interpretation to services.
  • Ensuring adherence to robust financial controls by budget holders.
  • Supporting the Head of Finance in implementing Internal and External Audit recommendations.
  • Designing Excel spreadsheets for financial reporting and analysis.
  • Explaining complex financial information to non-finance managers.
  • Delivering informal budget and financial management training to budget holders and other non-finance staff.
Requirements:
  • CCAB/CIMA qualified or equivalent experience commensurate with role.
  • Experience of working in a finance team.
  • Experience of working with financial systems and processes.
  • Demonstrate experience in the analysis and assessment of financial and non-financial data.
  • Experience of working in an NHS or similar organisation.
  • Detailed knowledge of financial aspects of one or more NHS services portfolios.
  • Good analytical skills and ability to analyse and interpret data.
