Interim Commercial Finance Specialist

At BWXT Nuclear Energy Canada Inc., we are seeking a highly skilled Financial Analyst to join our team on a 1-year contract basis. As a key member of our financial team, you will be responsible for monitoring all financial aspects of contracts, including project set-up, budget changes, and revenue recognition.
- Prepare and issue sales invoices to customers and follow up on accounts receivables.
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecasts, financial reports, and variance analysis reports.
- Determine contract Revenue Recognition per ASC605-35.
- Set up and maintain projects in JDE/SAP.
- Upload Project Structures and Budgets to JDE/SAP.
As a Financial Analyst, you will work closely with our Project Managers and Project Controls team to forecast backlog projects. You will also provide documents for internal monthly reviews and ensure audit, SOX, and internal procedural requirements are being followed.
Key responsibilities include:
- Calculating and reporting on monthly production variances and cost of quality.
- Preparing monthly project variance reports.
- Reviewing cost reports and reconciling WIP.
- Accruing for penalty/bonus positions.
- Working with customers to calculate and implement yearly interim pricing.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- 1-3 years of financial work experience, preferably in supply chain/commercial finance, cost reporting.
- Experience in financial and project accounting.
- Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- Strong analytic skills to clearly link financial results to operational performance drivers.
