About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Tax Manager to join our dynamic team at Capital Com Australia Limited. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance with VAT regulations, optimizing VAT processes, and providing strategic guidance to our organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • VAT Compliance: Oversee all aspects of VAT compliance, including timely and accurate VAT return filings, Intrastat, and EC Sales List submissions.
  • Process Optimization: Conduct periodic reviews of VAT processes and procedures to identify areas for improvement and efficiency gains.
  • Expert Advice: Provide expert advice on VAT matters to internal stakeholders, including Finance, Legal, and Operations teams.
  • Legislative Updates: Stay abreast of changes in VAT legislation and assess the impact on the business, recommending necessary actions to ensure compliance.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with external advisors and tax authorities as necessary to resolve VAT-related issues and inquiries.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Develop and maintain robust Excel models for VAT reporting, analysis, and forecasting purposes.
  • Project Leadership: Lead VAT-related projects, such as VAT audits, process automation initiatives, and system implementations.
Requirements
  • Qualifications: Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or ICAS) and/or Chartered Tax Advisor (CTA) qualification preferred.
  • Experience: Proven experience in VAT compliance and advisory roles, preferably within the financial services sector.
  • Skills: Strong proficiency in Excel modelling, including advanced functions and macros.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Communication: Ability to communicate complex tax issues effectively to non-tax professionals.
  • Proactivity: Proactive attitude with a desire to drive continuous improvement.
