About Us:
STFC is dedicated to supporting UK technology start-ups and SMEs through various Business Incubation initiatives. Our programmes are designed to assist technology start-ups in developing new products or services and launching them commercially. Over a span of 1-2 years, we provide grant funding, commercial coaching, and access to technical expertise and facilities, boasting a successful track record of supporting over 140 UK start-ups and creating over 1,000 skilled jobs.
We operate six Incubation Programmes, each targeting a specific technology sector (Space, Biotech, Quantum, Digital, Health tech, and Applied Physics) across multiple UK sites.

Role Overview:
This newly established position will assist in managing and expanding our Incubation Programmes. The role will be based at one of our established incubation teams, with occasional travel required to other sites.
The Business Incubation Programmes Senior Associate will play a crucial role within the team, with the potential for growth into Programme Manager positions. The post holder will collaborate closely with the Programmes Manager team to facilitate the delivery of the Incubation Programmes, as well as engage with the Operations team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist Programme Managers in maintaining a robust pipeline of applications for the Business Incubation Programmes by identifying potential start-ups and guiding them through the application process.
• Support Programme Managers in ensuring that incubated start-ups effectively complete their incubation plans and leverage the technical and business support available.
• Serve as a point of contact for incubated start-ups regarding the business incubation programmes.
• Create and disseminate high-quality content (case studies, blogs, position papers) to enhance the marketing and visibility of the Business Incubation Programmes.
• Conduct horizon scanning to identify technology and investment trends in relevant deeptech sectors.
• Organize and execute events that align with the goals of the Business Incubation Programmes.
• Represent the Business Incubation Programmes at industry events such as trade shows and conferences.
Candidate Profile:
Essential:
• Demonstrated interest in advanced technology and the commercialization of innovations.
• Experience in supporting business development activities, including market research and sales strategy development.
• Ability to produce high-quality content for marketing and reporting purposes.
• Proactive approach to managing projects with minimal supervision.
• Strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and networking skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
• A commitment to continuous improvement and curiosity in delivering high-quality work.
• Willingness to travel and work at various locations as needed.
• Proficiency in IT systems and Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Outlook.
Desirable:
• Experience within a start-up or scale-up support programme, or in a public sector grant scheme.
