Job Overview
This role offers the opportunity to showcase clinical expertise in a variety of areas, working within a well-supported team of professionals. The postholder will have the chance to develop their skills in teaching, management, and quality improvement, while contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
The team is currently undergoing training in Open Dialogue, a new approach to working that has brought a refreshing change of perspective for staff. This new approach is likely to lead to improved wellbeing for both staff and patients.

Main Duties of the Job
- Provide medical input to patients under the care of the Community Mental Health Team, attending CPAs for enhanced patients and providing urgent assessment/advice as required.
- Lead on the screening of new referrals to the team, working in a rotational capacity with other Consultants.
- Participate in service and team evaluation, contributing to the planning of future service developments.
- Empower the team to resolve local issues using quality improvement tools and methods, without needing permission.
- Manage, appraise, and provide professional supervision to junior medical staff, in accordance with Trust policies and procedures.
- Participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and, as appropriate, for the whole mental health service.
- Join the Consultant on-call rota, working in a non-residential capacity with a 3% category A supplement and 0.5 PA in addition to 10 PA sessions.
