We are seeking an experienced Medical Director to join our team at NUPAS. As a key member of our senior management team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the strategic direction of our organization and ensuring the highest standards of care and quality for our patients.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Provide clinical advice and guidance to our senior management team and CEO on matters related to clinical governance and quality assurance.
  2. Ensure that our organization maintains the highest standards of clinical governance and quality, including compliance with the Care Quality Commission essential standards.
  3. Lead the development and implementation of clinical pathways and policies, and manage performance to minimize risk to achieving our strategic direction.
  4. Contribute to the delivery of high-quality care to all patients, and ensure that our organization is equipped to meet the needs of our patients.
  5. Provide professional advice and guidance on complaints and disciplinary procedures for independent medical practitioners and medical employees.
  6. Lead the doctors' annual appraisal process, ensuring the appropriate development and quality assurance of the process.
  7. Monitor clinical performance through a range of clinical indicators, and implement recommendations from root cause analyses, serious untoward incidents/accidents, and external reviews.
  8. Develop an approach to clinical risk management, fostering a culture of openness and transparency, and ensuring robust systems are in place to identify, assess, and minimize clinical risk.
  9. Provide professional management and guidance to all independent medical practitioners.
Requirements:
  • Experience in medical management and leadership.
  • Good reputation as a clinician and clinical leader with a proven track record of producing high-quality results in the management and leadership of clinical services.
  • Experience of building organizational capabilities.
  • Previous medical director experience.
  • Previous experience working within a sexual health service.
  • Medical qualification and appropriate royal college membership or fellowship.
  • Postgraduate medical qualification.
  • Evidence of continuous learning and professional development.
  • Management qualification.
  • Postgraduate qualification in clinical governance.
  • Able to lead and motivate clinicians to harness and nurture talent.
