Strategic Fire Safety Advisor

Job DescriptionThe key responsibilities of the Strategic Fire Safety Advisor are:
- Provide expert advice on fire safety matters to front-line staff, health and safety roles, and senior management, sharing knowledge of legislation, internal policy, and sector best practice.
- Promote a positive fire safety culture by leading by example, delivering exceptional customer service, and proactively identifying and remediating issues.
- Deliver objectives as set out in the annual health & safety delivery plan and contribute to the development of the Fire Risk Management System.
- Oversee fire safety works to ensure progress against our strategy.
- Contribute to the development and review of fire safety documentation to support managers and employees.
- Improve fire safety performance by developing employee knowledge and expertise.
- Review, design, develop, and deliver fire safety training across the organisation.
- Collaborate with operational teams to maximise fire safety compliance.
- Assist operational teams in developing procedures to deliver fire safety policy and fire risk management system requirements.
- Produce reports on fire safety, incorporating statistical analysis and narrative, to enable Board and Executive Group reports.
- Investigate fire incidents, identify remedial action, and implement measures to prevent re-occurrence.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant fire safety policy and best practice updates and ensure corporate health and safety documentation is correct and in line with current legislation.
The successful Strategic Fire Safety Advisor will require:
- NEBOSH Fire Certificate or equivalent.
- Demonstrable relevant fire safety experience in a multi-site, public-facing environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communications and influencing skills, with experience delivering fire safety training.
- Demonstrable CDM advisory experience in a construction/housing environment.
