The Role: Senior Data Engineer - Airflow Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Engineer with a deep understanding of Apache Airflow to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in designing, implementing, and managing data pipelines that power our client's success.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to a team of data engineers, architects, and database administrators within an agile environment.
  • Drive the adoption and evolution of best-in-class data management technologies, including ETL/ELT tools, open-source frameworks, and workflow management systems.
  • Collaborate with data engineers and data scientists to translate complex data requirements into scalable and efficient workflows.
  • Design, implement, and maintain robust data pipelines using Apache Airflow, encompassing the development of custom operators and DAGs.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot Airflow workflows to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and data integrity.
  • Optimize Airflow configurations for scalability and efficiency, while adhering to best practices.
  • Document processes, workflows, and configurations for clear understanding and maintainability.

Your Expertise:

  • Extensive knowledge of enterprise data warehousing principles and ETL/ELT methodologies.
  • Proven experience with Apache Airflow, including the design and maintenance of complex workflows.
  • Strong proficiency in Python programming language.
  • Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) and their data services.
  • Experience with version control systems such as Git.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
