About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced retail professional to join our team as an Assistant Store Manager at YMCA England & Wales. As a key member of our store management team, you will play a vital role in supporting the Store Manager and contributing to the success of our charity retail operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Store Manager in the day-to-day running of the store, including stock management, visual merchandising, and customer service.
  • Support the development and implementation of sales strategies to drive revenue growth and improve customer engagement.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to lead and motivate a team of paid staff and volunteers, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of store policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with company standards and regulations.
  • Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer queries and resolving issues in a professional and courteous manner.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in a retail management role, preferably in a charity or not-for-profit organization.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on delivering a high-quality experience for customers.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to working hours and tasks.
  • Knowledge of retail operations, including stock management, visual merchandising, and sales strategies.
