Job Summary:

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Complex Needs Learning Support Assistant to join our team. As a Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting both teachers and students in creating a nurturing and inclusive environment that fosters academic success and personal growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and delivering engaging and effective lessons to meet the needs of students with complex needs.
  • Provide individual and small group support to students with varying needs, promoting positive learning behaviors and encouraging academic success.
  • Work closely with teachers to monitor and assess student progress, implementing individual education plans (IEPs) and behavior management plans as needed.
  • Support the development of a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, collaborating with colleagues to create a positive and productive learning space.
  • Encourage and motivate students, promoting a growth mindset and a love of learning.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous, but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude, with a commitment to supporting students with complex needs.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
  • Commitment to professional development and continuous learning, with a desire to stay up-to-date with best practices in supporting students with complex needs.
