Claims Manager, Energy and Marine Specialist

About the Role
Canopius is seeking a highly skilled Claims Manager to lead our Energy and Marine Lines of Business. This is a unique opportunity to work with a diverse portfolio of products and risks, including Renewables, Upstream Energy, Downstream, and Power and Energy Liabilities, as well as Marine classes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive claims strategy, working closely with the global claims team.
- Drive high performance within the team through goal setting, motivation, performance monitoring, feedback, and training.
- Provide effective supervision of higher value, complex claims within the Energy, Marine, Engineering, and Specie portfolios.
- Proactively manage claims portfolios, handling claims from initial notification to resolution, interim and final payments within authority levels.
- Drive excellent claim outcomes and monitor results, ensuring the portfolio is appropriately reserved at all times.
- Provide high-quality reporting on claims.
- Identify training requirements and provide training and development to relevant team members.
- Ensure effective oversight and control of outsource partners.
- Develop and maintain key relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Experienced claims practitioner with a proven track record in handling Energy and/or Marine claims, ideally in a lead capacity.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders.
- Understanding and application of legal and regulatory issues.
