Finance Senior Associate

Location: London

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Senior Associate to become a vital part of our expanding FinOps team, delivering innovative Smart Finance Function services to a diverse portfolio of clients across key sectors such as Technology, SaaS, and e-commerce.

In this role, you will collaborate within a team to execute all facets of our Smart Finance Function, emphasizing the delivery of insightful management information. This position requires proficiency in the latest accounting technologies, with a strong emphasis on providing value to our clients.

Key Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting clients in their transition and transformation journey.
  • Designing and building finance systems while working with data structures.
  • Enhancing processes for new clients to achieve best practices, utilizing technology to streamline operations.
  • Supporting the creation of tailored client management information and data analytics.
  • Developing comprehensive client process manuals.
  • Mentoring junior associates.
  • Conducting close activities and preparing monthly working papers, including reconciliations, VAT returns, prepayments/accruals, and journals.
  • Utilizing and generating reports from cloud accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks).
  • Preparing management commentaries and monthly/quarterly management accounts.
  • Reviewing annual statutory accounts and corporation tax.
  • Investigating and addressing technical accounting inquiries.
  • Acting as the primary relationship manager for less complex clients.
  • Handling ad hoc requests and non-routine inquiries from clients.
  • Engaging in ad-hoc projects and tasks as required in a dynamic business environment.
  • Providing technical support to Portfolio CFOs in managing their portfolios.

Ideal Candidate Profile

To qualify for this position, you should possess:

  • Completed ACCA or ACA examinations and be progressing towards an accountancy qualification.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a small to mid-sized practice.
  • Strong experience and knowledge in bookkeeping and management accounts.
  • A passion for working with diverse clients while understanding their unique requirements.
  • Experience in coaching and developing junior team members.
  • Proven ability to manage smaller client accounts.
  • Excellent computer skills, particularly in Excel.
  • Familiarity with cloud accounting systems (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage One/Live).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and time management capabilities.
  • A proactive approach to questioning processes to enhance quality and efficiency.

Compensation Package

  • Competitive salary range of £31,000 – £36,000, based on experience.
  • Discretionary performance-related bonus (up to 5%).

Additional Information

This role will primarily be based in London, with occasional travel to client sites required. Remote work may be possible depending on business and client needs. Your skills and experience will dictate the entry level, and progression within our organization will be performance-based.
