Compassionate Caregiver

Mencap is on the lookout for devoted Support Workers who are eager to make a significant impact in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities.

As a Support Worker, you will engage with a diverse clientele, each with distinct needs and abilities. Your role will encompass assisting with daily tasks and providing emotional support, thereby enhancing their quality of life.

• Assist individuals with their daily routines and personal care, including medication reminders and hygiene support.
• Facilitate social interactions and participation in community activities to combat social isolation.
• Support clients in managing their finances, including bill payments and shopping assistance.
• Implement Positive Behaviour Support Strategies to foster a better quality of life for those you assist.

The ideal candidate will possess a caring and patient demeanor, coupled with a genuine enthusiasm for helping others. Strong communication skills and the ability to form meaningful connections are essential. Flexibility in working various shifts, including evenings and weekends, is required. A positive and empathetic outlook towards individuals with learning disabilities is crucial.

This role offers two full-time contracts with varied hours as part of a 4-week rolling rota. All services operate on a 24-hour care basis, and rotas are prepared at least four weeks in advance to accommodate personal schedules.

• A full clean driving license is necessary for this position.
