Mencap is on the lookout for dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our exceptional team as Support Workers. This role offers a unique opportunity to positively impact the lives of individuals with learning disabilities in a supportive environment.
As a Support Worker, you will engage with a diverse group of individuals, each with their own unique strengths and requirements. Your responsibilities will include:
- Assisting with daily living activities and providing emotional support to enhance their quality of life.
- Demonstrating patience and genuine care for those you support.
- Building meaningful relationships through excellent communication skills.
- Flexibility to accommodate various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- A positive and empathetic approach towards individuals with learning disabilities.
- Supporting individuals with financial tasks such as bill payments and shopping.
- Reducing social isolation by facilitating participation in social groups and activities.
- Assisting with personal care routines, including medication prompts and hygiene support.
- Implementing Positive Behaviour Support Strategies to improve overall well-being.
A valid driver's license is required for this position.
Employment Options :
- Two full-time contracts available with various hours as part of a 4-week rolling rota.
Shift Information :
Our services operate 24/7, and we prepare rotas at least 4 weeks in advance to help you balance your personal and social commitments.
- Day shifts: 9:00 AM – 9:00 PM
- Night shifts: 9:00 PM – 9:00 AM
*All positions are subject to an enhanced disclosure check and registration with relevant professional bodies.
