Claims Commercial Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Commercial Manager to join our team at Hastings Direct. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for developing and executing an engineering strategy that delivers engineering services at the lowest appropriate and class-leading cost.
Key Responsibilities:- Co-own our steerage model, ensuring repair vs total loss decisions are based on the best indemnity and customer outcomes
- Contribute to and execute an engineering strategy that delivers engineering services at the lowest appropriate and class-leading cost
- Use data to enable fast and effective decision making for the whole team to drive change, identifying and mitigating risks associated with all changes and recommendations
- Build key stakeholder relationships to allow the smooth implementation of change as quickly and effectively as possible
- Continuously strive to conduct as much engineering as possible internally, whilst managing the performance and costs of external engineering suppliers
- Lead a re-rating of our know your opponent intelligence - working with claims colleagues to ensure that any KYO strategy lands
- Knowledge and experience of the UK Motor repair market, including a good understanding of claims and risk management principles and practices
- A technical understanding in the principles of motor body repair methods and knowledge of motor insurance/subrogation
- Strong commercial acumen (especially around cost mitigation) and comfortable with innovation and disruption, whilst evolving current practices
