Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake highways repairs, including pothole patching, drainage work, and general highway maintenance.
  • Operate plant and equipment, such as excavators and rollers, to support daily tasks.
  • Use technology to input safety data and maintenance records, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
  • Take responsibility for vehicles, plant, and materials in your charge, adhering to health and safety protocols.
  • Provide direction and supervision to less experienced operatives, promoting a culture of teamwork and excellence.
  • Participate in winter and emergency maintenance activities, working on a standby rota to ensure our roads remain safe and accessible.
Requirements
  • Clean driving license and ability to operate plant and equipment.
  • Commitment to health and safety, with a focus on preventing accidents and ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Good communication skills and basic literacy and numeracy, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Ability to undertake manual work and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • LGV Class C driving license or willingness to invest in training during the probationary period.
  • CSCS Card, demonstrating your commitment to industry standards and best practices.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Highways experience, with a proven track record of delivering high-quality results.
  • New Roads and Street Works (NRSWA) Operative Accreditation, demonstrating your expertise in highway maintenance.
  • Lantra 12d, showcasing your skills in plant operation and maintenance.
